Cover Story: Lignocellulosic biomass is the most common filler for the production of rubber biocomposites. The materials can be classified into different categories, such as natural fibers, microcrystalline cellulose, lignins and nanocellulose. In this review, the curing characteristics, mechanical properties and dynamic mechanical properties of different types of rubber biocomposites are reported and the effect of filler-rubber modifications, as well as filler hybridization, are presented and compared.
