J. Compos. Sci. 2021 Travel Awards (500 CHF)
Dear Colleagues,
J. Compos. Sci. has been carefully monitoring the situation regarding COVID-19, which is spreading rapidly around the world, leading to further restrictions on scientific conference activities. It is with the deepest regret that we announce that the J. Compos. Sci. 2021 Travel Awards has been further postponed.
J. Compos. Sci. will be awarding two Travel Awards to junior scientists. The applications will be assessed by an Evaluation Committee consisting of senior scholars from the J. Compos. Sci. Editorial Board, and the application deadline has been provisionally extended to 31 January 2021.
This prize provides financial support for the winners to attend an international conference in the field of composite science to be held in 2021 in order to hold a presentation, present a poster, or both.
Candidate Requirements:
– Postdoctoral fellows or PhD students (proof required).
– Plans to attend an international conference in 2021 (oral presentation or poster).
Required Application Documents:
– Information of the conference that the applicant is planning to attend and the abstract that will be submitted.
– Curriculum Vitae and list of publications.
– Justification letter describing the focus of the research (max. 800 words).
– Letter of recommendation from the supervisor, research director, or department head, which also confirms the applicant’s status as a postdoctoral fellow/ PhD student.
The winners (two awardees) will each be awarded 500 CHF and a certificate.
Please submit your applications for the J. Compos. Sci. 2021 Travel Awards online by 31 January 2021. Prizes will be awarded at the end of February 2020 and announced on the J. Compos. Sci. website.

J. Compos. Sci. 2019 Travel Award
Dear Colleagues,
As the Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Composites Science, I am pleased to announce the winner of the 2019 Journal of Composites Science Travel Awards: Elyas Goli, Ph.D. Candidate at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The award consists of 800 Swiss Francs to attend any academic conference in the second half year of 2019 or first half year of 2020.
Mr. Elyas Goli's research involves Computational Multiphysics and Advanced Materials Modeling. He will present his research “Modeling of a New Composites Manufacturing Process Based on Frontal Polymerization” at the 22nd International Conference on Composite Materials 2019 in Melbourne, Australia between August 11-16, 2019.
