Cover Story: Dicopper complexes bearing a naphthyridine spacer and bis-oxazoline arms are of interest as synthetic models of copper oxygenases. Via the reaction of dicopper(I) species with oxygen-yielding peroxide adducts or via the oxidation of µ-hydroxido dicopper(II)complexes, high-valent copper species that can potentially oxidize various hydrogenated substrates can be obtained. The present study particularly emphasizes that the electrochemically produced CuIICuIII species are compatible with the aliphatic oxidation of C–H bonds (intramolecular or external substrate). View this paper
