Cover Story: Existential suffering refers to one’s angst from a perceived loss of meaning, hope, relationships, and a sense of self in thinking about death and dying. Quality palliative care not only takes care of patients’ physical pain and existential suffering but also fills their last days with opportunities for redemption, spiritual growth, and restoration of relations. Our paper proposes that this could be achieved through a holistic approach with a focus on spiritual care, as illustrated by a healing wheel involving healthcare professionals, the community, the patient, and a Higher Power.
