Liver Diseases: From Pathogenesis to Modern Management
Topic Information
Dear Colleagues,
This Topic aims to provide a comprehensive and forward-looking overview of liver diseases, spanning fundamental mechanisms of pathogenesis to contemporary and emerging therapeutic strategies. We invite high-quality original research, systematic reviews, and expert perspectives that advance understanding of molecular, genetic, metabolic, immune, and environmental drivers of liver injury and disease progression. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, viral hepatitis, metabolic dysfunction- associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), cirrhosis, portal hypertension, hepatocellular carcinoma, cholangiopathies, autoimmune liver disorders, and liver transplantation. Emphasis will be placed on translational research, precision medicine, biomarkers, innovative imaging, interventional hepatology, surgical and transplant advances, and novel pharmacologic and regenerative therapies. By integrating basic science discoveries with clinical innovation, this Topic seeks to bridge bench-to-bedside gaps, highlight evolving standards of care, and shape future directions in hepatology. Our goal is to create a high-impact, multidisciplinary resource for clinicians, researchers, and policymakers committed to improving outcomes in liver disease.

Preprints.org is a multidisciplinary platform offering a preprint service designed to facilitate the early sharing of your research. It supports and empowers your research journey from the very beginning.
MDPI Topics is collaborating with Preprints.org and has established a direct connection between MDPI journals and the platform. Authors are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity by posting their preprints at Preprints.org prior to publication:
- Share your research immediately: disseminate your ideas prior to publication and establish priority for your work.
- Safeguard your intellectual contribution: Protect your ideas with a time-stamped preprint that serves as proof of your research timeline.
- Boost visibility and impact: Increase the reach and influence of your research by making it accessible to a global audience.
- Gain early feedback: Receive valuable input and insights from peers before submitting to a journal.
- Ensure broad indexing: Web of Science (Preprint Citation Index), Google Scholar, Crossref, SHARE, PrePubMed, Scilit and Europe PMC.
