Developments and Strategies for Cyber-Physical Systems in the Age of Industry 5.0

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce a new Special Issue entitled “Developments and Strategies for Cyber-Physical Systems in the Age of Industry 5.0”. Industry 5.0 represents a new and emerging phase of industrialization that sees humans working alongside advanced technology and intelligent robots to enhance workplace processes. The advent of Industry 5.0 brings forth a new era of digital transformation, characterized by the continuous integration of cyber systems and physical systems in order to enhance efficiency, productivity, and sustainability.

Cyber-Physical Systems (CPSs) bridge the gap between the virtual and physical worlds in order to revolutionize various domains, including manufacturing, transportation, healthcare, energy, and cities. We invite researchers to contribute original research articles, reviews, and case studies that explore the latest developments, challenges, applications, and strategies in the field of CPS within the context of Industry 5.0.

Potential topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Advances in CPS design, modeling, and simulation techniques;
• Integration of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics in CPS;
• Security, privacy, and trustworthiness in CPS deployment;
• Human–CPS interaction and collaboration frameworks;
• Industrial applications and case studies of CPS;
• Resilience and fault tolerance mechanisms in CPS;
• Ethical, legal, and societal implications of CPS adoption;
• Standardization, interoperability, and regulatory aspects of CPS;
• Sustainability in CPS strategy and development;
• Component-based real-time scheduling algorithm and schedulability analysis for CPS;
• Mixed-criticality systems and case studies (e.g., automotive/avionic systems).

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the Special Issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Systems is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
