Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Business innovation is undergoing a profound transformation driven by the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technologies. These developments are reshaping organizational structures, decision-making processes, and strategic orientations, enabling firms to reengineer their operations and improve their competitive advantage. Within this evolving landscape, business process reengineering (BPR) and management systems play a pivotal role in facilitating data-driven, intelligent, and adaptive forms of innovation.
However, as technological innovation accelerates, it becomes increasingly important to ensure that it aligns with the principles of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability. Responsible innovation calls for a holistic approach that integrates technological, social, ethical, and environmental considerations. The convergence of AI, BPR, and CSR, therefore, presents new opportunities—and challenges—for designing management systems that promote both organizational efficiency and societal well-being.
This Special Issue will advance the scientific discourse on how businesses can leverage AI and process reengineering to achieve responsible and sustainable innovation. It will explore theoretical frameworks, empirical research, and practical applications that bridge the domains of technological innovation, management systems, and corporate responsibility. The goal is to identify strategies that foster economic growth while ensuring ethical accountability, social inclusiveness, and environmental stewardship.
We invite you to submit original, unpublished articles, case studies or review papers to this Special Issue, entitled “Business Innovation in the Age of AI—from Management Systems to Responsible Transformation”, addressing the intersection of AI, management innovation, and CSR.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Artificial intelligence as a driver of business innovation;
- Integration of AI into management systems and organizational processes;
- Business process reengineering (BPR) in the context of digital transformation;
- Responsible and ethical AI for sustainable business practices;
- Corporate social responsibility in AI-enabled enterprises;
- Alignment of AI and CSR strategies for long-term sustainability;
- Governance and accountability in data-driven organizations;
- Measuring the impact of AI-driven innovation on environmental and social outcomes;
- Dynamic capabilities and organizational learning for responsible innovation;
- Future directions of intelligent and sustainable management systems.
By exploring these areas, this Special Issue will provide us with a comprehensive understanding of how technological and social innovation can be jointly mobilized to shape the next generation of sustainable, ethical, and resilient business practices.
We look forward to receiving your valuable contributions.
