Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Cryptography and information security are essential for protecting sensitive data, preserving privacy, and ensuring secure communications in modern digital environments. With the rapid growth of digital interconnected infrastructures, symmetry-based secure models and intelligent security approaches have become increasingly important for addressing emerging cyber threats, since symmetry principles play a significant role in cryptographic algorithms and secure communication protocols.
This Special Issue aims to bring together researchers and practitioners to share recent advances in information security and cryptographic applications. We particularly welcome contributions related to secure communications, authentication methods, privacy-preserving technologies, AI security, multimedia and biometric security, embedded systems security, chaos-based cryptography, IoT and IoMT security, robotics security, and secure complex networks. Submissions of original research articles and review articles exploring practical applications are encouraged. Research topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Symmetric-key cryptography;
- Secure communications and authentication;
- IoT and IoMT security;
- AI security and intelligent cybersecurity;
- Multimedia and biometric security;
- Embedded systems security;

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Symmetry is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
