Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The field of hand surgery represents a unique intersection of microsurgery, reconstructive techniques, and functional rehabilitation aimed at restoring mobility, sensitivity, and aesthetics of the upper limb. In recent years, innovative approaches such as regenerative medicine, bioprinting, nerve reconstruction, and minimally invasive techniques have significantly advanced both clinical outcomes and research in this area. The complexity of hand anatomy and function makes it a dynamic field for translational research, where scientific discoveries rapidly influence surgical protocols and patient care.
This Special Issue, titled "Feature Paper in Hand Surgery and Research," aims to highlight high-quality contributions that reflect the most recent advancements and ongoing challenges in hand surgery. We welcome original research, comprehensive reviews, and case series that explore clinical outcomes, surgical innovations, biomaterials, regenerative strategies, nerve repair, and postoperative rehabilitation. Contributions focusing on experimental models, surgical anatomy, or interdisciplinary approaches involving bioengineering and tissue regeneration are particularly encouraged.
The aim of this Special Issue is to foster collaboration and knowledge dissemination among surgeons, researchers, and allied professionals involved in hand surgery and related subspecialties. Through this Special Issue, we hope to stimulate further developments and generate discussion on current practices and future directions in hand surgery.
We look forward to receiving your contributions.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Surgeries is an international peer-reviewed open access quarterly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
