Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Organic and perovskite optoelectronic materials have become key building blocks for next-generation solar energy conversion and optoelectronic technologies. Benefiting from their tunable electronic structures, excellent optoelectronic properties, solution-processability, and compatibility with flexible substrates, these materials have attracted significant interest in photovoltaics, light-emitting devices, photodetectors, sensors, and flexible electronics.
In recent years, remarkable advances have been achieved in organic photovoltaics, perovskite solar cells, and related optoelectronic devices. However, challenges remain in understanding charge-generation and transport processes, optimizing interfacial properties, improving device stability, and developing scalable fabrication technologies. Meanwhile, the design of novel functional materials continues to provide new opportunities for enhancing device performance and broadening application areas.
This Special Issue, entitled “Organic and Perovskite Optoelectronic Materials and Devices”, aims to present recent progress in the design, synthesis, characterization, and application of advanced organic and perovskite materials for energy and optoelectronic technologies. Original research articles, reviews, and communications are welcome.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Organic photovoltaics and perovskite solar cells;
- Organic and perovskite semiconductor materials;
- Charge transport, exciton dynamics, and interfacial engineering;
- OLEDs and emerging luminescent materials;
- Photodetectors, sensors, and imaging devices;
- Flexible optoelectronic devices;
- Theoretical studies and photophysical investigations;
- Multifunctional materials and integrated energy/optoelectronic systems.
By bringing together contributions from chemistry, materials science, physics, and device engineering, this Special Issue aims to advance the development of efficient, stable, and sustainable optoelectronic and energy-conversion technologies.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Solar is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
