2021	The inaugural issue was released. Solar was published as a quarterly journal.
2022	Solar was indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).
2023	Solar announced the first edition of the Outstanding Reviewer Award.
2025	Solar was indexed in Scopus (Elsevier), starting with Volume 1. Solar received its first CiteScore (2024) of 4.3, ranked Q2 in “Environmental Science (miscellaneous)”, “Materials Science (miscellaneous)” and “Energy”.
2025	Solar was indexed in Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI)—Web of Science (Clarivate Analytics), starting with Volume 1.
2026	Solar adopted a bimonthly publication schedule. Solar established the following sections: Photovoltaics; Solar Thermal and Solar Chemical Conversion; Solar Energy Systems and Integration; Solar Resources, Performance and Sustainability.
