Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Digital prosthodontics has transformed the field of restorative dentistry by embracing computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD-CAM) systems in all aspects of dental practice. In the recent years, we have witnessed a steady improvement in intraoral scanning systems, CAD/CAM systems, the alignment algorithms from CAD software, and the introduction of AI in the digital designing systems, making it possible to achieve an extraordinary level of precision and repeatability in prosthetics production in dentistry. In conjunction with these technological advancements, a whole new family of materials has emerged, and feldspathic ceramics, lithium disilicate glass ceramics, zirconia, resin composites, and resin-ceramics have been developed, with unique benefits in terms of strength, esthetic qualities, and biocompatibility. Digital prosthodontics has thus widened its frontiers from single-unit prosthetics to full arch and implant-supported reconstructions, offering a synergy of precision, productivity, and patient-focusing capabilities. This Special Issue, “Advances in Digital Prosthodontics: Innovations in CAD-CAM Technology and Material Science”, covers all aspects of CAD-CAM technology in dentistry, including digital impression scanning, data processing, digital designing, subtractive and additive manufacturing, digital design of implant restorations, and performance characterization of dental materials. By presenting a unified discussion of methodology-related issues, system validation, and in vivo performance of new generations of CAD-CAM materials, this Special Issue is intended to present a holistic vision of digital dentistry towards scientific rigor, replicability, and applicability.
We look forward to receiving your contributions.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Prosthesis is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1800 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
