Dear Colleagues,
Medication management represents one of the most complex and high-risk areas of nursing practice, requiring advanced clinical judgment, interprofessional collaboration, and strict adherence to safety standards. The rapid digital transformation of healthcare systems is profoundly reshaping how nurses prescribe, administer, monitor, and document pharmacological therapies. Technologies such as electronic prescribing systems, clinical decision support systems (CDSS), barcode medication administration (BCMA), smart infusion pumps, telehealth platforms, and artificial intelligence tools are increasingly integrated into daily clinical workflows.
This Special Issue aims to explore the impact of digital innovation on nursing practice in medication management across diverse healthcare settings (hospital and community care). We welcome original research, systematic reviews, implementation studies, and practice innovations addressing medication safety, reducing medication errors, digital competencies, workflow optimization, data interoperability, patient engagement, and ethical implications of digital technologies. Particular attention will be given to evidence-based strategies that enhance patient outcomes, strengthen nurses’ clinical autonomy, and promote safe, efficient, and patient-centered pharmacological care.
By examining both opportunities and challenges associated with digital transformation, this Special Issue seeks to advance knowledge and support the development of resilient, technology-enabled nursing practices in medication management.

Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Nursing Reports is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
