Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The evolution beyond 5G (B5G) wireless networks towards upcoming 6G wireless leverages ultrareliable, low-latency communications with new physical and link (MAC) layer technologies, pervasive connectivity, and integrated computing, communications, and sensing. This Special Issue seeks to explore the latest research, innovations, and challenges in the domain of B5G/6G wireless networks and massive Internet of Things (IoT). With the proliferation of intelligent applications, including smart cities, autonomous systems, digital twins, and industrial automation, the need for scalable, secure, and energy-efficient 6G wireless frameworks is more critical than ever. Furthermore, the heightened risk of cyber threats in interconnected environments underscores the importance of robust cybersecurity measures and advanced malware detection systems in 6G networks.

We invite original contributions that address cutting-edge topics, such as intelligent radio resource management, AI-driven network technologies, terahertz and visible light communications, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces, integrated computing, communications and sensing, and cross-layer design strategies for massive IoT deployment in the context of next-generation 6G wireless. Contributions focusing on cybersecurity innovations—including AI-enhanced threat detection, secure network architectures, and real-time malware detection for IoT ecosystems—are also encouraged. This Special Issue also seeks interdisciplinary approaches that blend communication theory, edge computing, data analytics, and advanced threat mitigation techniques to support secure, real-time, and context-aware decision-making at scale.

This Special Issue aims to provide a timely and comprehensive platform for academics, industry researchers, and practitioners to share insights and foster collaboration to shape the next-generation 6G wireless and IoT technologies. By highlighting groundbreaking advances, addressing cybersecurity challenges, and emphasizing open research questions, this publication will drive innovation and set the direction for future research in B5G/6G-enabled massive IoT systems.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Network is an international peer-reviewed open access quarterly journal published by MDPI.
