Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Supramolecular coordination chemistry is a domains in inorganic chemistry which transcends the topic of molecules, whereby coordination interactions play important roles in the self-assembly and properties of coordination supramolecular materials or metal–organic materials (MOMs). From a structural point of view, MOMs are mainly divided into two different types: (1) discrete or oligomeric coordination entities showing specific shapes, sizes, or cavities (such as metal–organic cage/containers (MOCs) or metal–organic polygons/polyhedra (MOPs), helicates, rotaxanes, catenanes, etc.); (2) infinite/polymeric coordination ensembles assembled from a variable number of components, such as coordination polymers (CPs), metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), metal–organic gels (MOGs), etc. Various designable, predictable, and tunable strategies of coordination-driven self-assembly have been developed, which propel the field of modern supramolecular syntheses and materials toward mature applications in environment, energy, materials, life, and health fields.

This Special Issue of Molecules aims to present recent advances in coordination supramolecular materials for clean environment and energy. Welcome papers on syntheses and assembly of coordinated supramolecular materials with potential applications relevant but not limited to H2 production, CO2 reduction, gas adsorption and separation, photoelectric catalysis, photoluminescence, battery, and other sustainable energy technologies and chemical processes.

Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Molecules is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
