Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

In recent years, the integration of deep learning and computer graphics has emerged as an important research direction in the fields of artificial intelligence and visual computing. Deep learning techniques have achieved remarkable progress in tasks such as image generation, three-dimensional modeling, virtual and augmented reality, and scientific visualization.

In computer graphics, data often possesses complex geometric structures, including 3D meshes, point clouds, and manifold-based representations. geometric deep learning, which combines deep neural networks with tools from graph theory, differential geometry, and spectral analysis. This interdisciplinary approach has become a major research focus in modern visual computing.

This Special Issue aims to collect the latest research advances at the intersection of deep learning and computer graphics, with a particular focus on mathematical foundations, algorithmic innovations, and emerging applications. Contributions addressing theoretical developments, computational methods, and practical systems are especially encouraged.

The main topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Theoretical foundations and algorithmic developments in deep learning;
  • Geometric deep learning and 3D visual computing;
  • Neural rendering and implicit field representations;
  • Geometric feature modeling and recognition;
  • Geometric transformations and graphics processing;
  • Shape optimization and geometric optimization methods.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Mathematics is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
