New Advances in Nanotribology

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce a Special Issue entitled "New Advances in Nanotribology" in Lubricants. This issue aims to highlight recent progress and emerging trends in the rapidly developing field of nanotribology.

We welcome both original research articles and comprehensive reviews that explore fundamental mechanisms and practical applications of friction, wear, lubrication, and adhesion at the nano- and micro-scales. Contributions may cover (some example below)

• Nanotribological mechanisms studied by advanced tools (e.g., atomic force microscopy (AFM), friction force microscopy (FFM), and nanoindentation).
• Friction, wear, and lubrication of two-dimensional materials
• Properties of confined liquids, ionic liquids, and self-assembled monolayers in nanoscale lubrication.
• Nanowear, surface modification, and lifetime reliability of thin films and functional surfaces.
• Multiscale contact mechanics and modeling approaches which connect atomistic simulations (MD, DFT) with continuum tribology.
• Applications of nanotribology in MEMS/NEMS, biomedical devices, and energy-efficient technologies.

This Special Issue will serve as a platform for bring together researchers from diverse fields who are shaping the future of nanotribology. We especially encourage interdisciplinary studies that push the boundaries of our understanding and open new directions for future research and technology.

We warmly invite researchers from academia and industry to contribute their latest work to this Special Issue.

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Lubricants is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
