Hydroelasticity of Ships and Renewable Energy Devices

Dear Colleagues,

The pursuit of blue economy has shifted the focus of marine engineering toward stable, more flexible, and more efficient multi-use structures. By integrating theoretical formulations and advanced numerical simulations with high-fidelity experimental data, the working principle and installation mode of the integrated system between the ships and wave energy devices can be established to bridge the gap between theoretical and numerical hydroelasticity and practical engineering applications, providing a roadmap for more resilient ships and high-performance renewable energy systems able to endure harsh marine environments. Therefore, the hydroelastic analysis of ship structures and high-performance renewable energy systems is essential for evaluating their overall performance and durability, particularly given their deployment in harsh marine environments.

This Special Issue seeks high-quality research on recent advancements in the hydroelasticity of ships and renewable energy devices. We welcome original research papers that provide new insights through experimental, numerical, or analytical investigations, with a preference for studies that offer novel methodologies and substantial advancements within the maritime engineering and marine renewable energy fields.

In particular, nonlinear hydroelastic contributions towards individual ship models and renewable energy devices are welcome.

Topics of interest for publication include, but are not limited to, the following:
