Awards
JFB 2022 Highly Cited Paper Award
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the “JFB 2022 Highly Cited Paper Award” for research and review articles published in the Journal of Functional Biomaterials from 1 January 2020 to 31 December 2021. One review and two research articles will receive an award each. The papers will be selected after thorough evaluation by the journal Award Committee led by the EiC, Prof. Dr. Francesco Puoci, and the winners will be announced in March 2023.
Eligibility for the award:
– Papers published in Journal of Functional Biomaterials from 1 January 2020 to 31 December 2021;
– Open to all career levels;
– Both regular and Special Issue submissions will be considered.
Selection Criteria:
The papers will be selected by the journal Award Committee according to the following criteria (data source: Web of Science (Clarivate Analytics)):
– Scientific merit and broad impact;
– Originality of the research objectives and/or the ideas presented;
– Creativity of the study design or uniqueness of the approaches and concepts;
– Clarity of presentation;
– Citation and download rates in 2022.
Prizes:
– One review award: CHF 300 and the chance to publish a paper free of charge in JFB in 2023;
– Two research article awards: CHF 300 and the chance to publish a paper free of charge in JFB in 2023;
– Each winner will also receive a certificate.
The winners will be announced on the journal website in March 2023.

Dear Colleagues,

The award has been granted to Dr. Anushree Seth, a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Soft Nanomaterials Laboratory at Washington University in St. Louis.

2021 Travel Award Evaluation Committee
JFB 2017 Travel Award
I am pleased to announce the winner of the JFB Travel Award for 2017.
The Travel Award has been granted to Dr. Attilio Marino, a PhD student in Biorobotics at the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT), Center for [email protected], Pontedera, Italy.
Dr. Attilio Marino’s main research interests are in the fields of nanomaterials for biomedical applications (e.g. remote cell stimulation mediated by piezoelectric nanoparticles and NIR-absorbing nanoparticles), 3D scaffolds for tissue engineering and biology in altered gravity conditions.
On behalf of the JFB team, I would like to congratulate Dr. Attilio Marino for all his achievements!
