Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Cardiorenal metabolic disease represents a convergence of cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic dysfunction that drives substantial global morbidity and mortality. The bidirectional relationships among heart failure, chronic kidney disease, diabetes, and obesity create complex pathophysiological feedback loops that challenge conventional, organ-specific treatment paradigms. This Special Issue aims to capture the latest mechanistic insights and translational advances addressing this multisystem interplay.
We welcome original research and review articles that cover topics such as the molecular mechanisms linking insulin resistance, dyslipidemia, and chronic inflammation to cardiorenal injury; the roles of oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, and gut microbiota in disease progression; novel biomarkers for early detection and risk stratification; and therapeutic innovations including SGLT2 inhibitors, GLP-1 receptor agonists, mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists, and emerging precision medicine approaches. Contributions exploring genomic, proteomic, and bioinformatic strategies to identify new therapeutic targets are particularly encouraged, as are studies addressing sex- and age-related differences in cardiorenal metabolic outcomes.
By bringing together diverse perspectives from basic science, clinical research, and epidemiology, this Special Issue seeks to advance our understanding of cardiorenal metabolic syndrome and support the development of integrated, multidisciplinary management strategies.

Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Journal of CardioRenal Medicine is an international peer-reviewed open access quarterly journal published by MDPI.
