Pharmacotherapy and Patient Care in Rheumatoid Arthritis

This special issue belongs to the section “Immunology & Rheumatology“.

Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic, systemic autoimmune disease characterized by persistent synovial inflammation, progressive joint destruction, and significant impacts on quality of life. Over recent decades, advances in pharmacotherapy—including conventional synthetic DMARDs, biologic agents, and targeted synthetic therapies—have transformed RA management. However, challenges remain in optimizing treatment strategies, managing comorbidities, addressing drug safety, and tailoring therapy to individual patient profiles.

This Special Issue of the Journal of Clinical Medicine aims to bring together high-quality original research and comprehensive reviews addressing all aspects of pharmacotherapy and patient care in RA. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Comparative effectiveness and safety of current and emerging treatments;
  • Biomarkers and precision medicine approaches for therapeutic decision making;
  • Management of treatment-resistant RA;
  • Strategies for minimizing adverse effects and improving adherence;
  • Multidisciplinary care models and patient-centered approaches;
  • Impact of lifestyle and rehabilitation on treatment outcomes.

By integrating insights from clinical trials, real-world studies, and translational research, this Special Issue seeks to advance the understanding of optimal RA management and improve patient care. We welcome submissions from clinicians, researchers, and healthcare professionals across disciplines.
