Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with creativity and human-centered design principles is at the forefront of reshaping user experiences across digital platforms. This Special Issue of Information invites contributions exploring how AI-driven creativity can enhance human-centered design practices to create more personalized, immersive, and engaging user experiences. AI offers innovative tools for designers, enabling the generation of creative solutions, personalized interfaces, and adaptive systems that respond dynamically to user needs and contexts.

Human-centered design, grounded in empathy and user experience principles, ensures that AI applications are developed with the user’s needs and values at the core. This Special Issue aims to explore how AI can augment design processes, fostering creativity while prioritizing user well-being, accessibility, and emotional engagement. It seeks contributions that discuss AI tools and methodologies, such as generative design, machine learning, and data-driven insights, and their impact on enhancing user satisfaction, accessibility, and interaction.

The Special Issue also emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches combining design thinking, AI technology, and user psychology to drive innovation in digital environments. By addressing current research trends, this Special Issue aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of how AI can facilitate the creation of user experiences that are not only functional but also emotionally resonant and ethically sound. We invite papers that explore the convergence of AI and human-centered design, focusing on applications in areas such as immersive technologies, personalized UX, and AI-powered creativity.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Information is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
