Dear Colleagues,
It brings me great pleasure to invite you to submit a manuscript to a Special Issue of Energies on the topic of “Design and Implementation of Intelligent Systems”. The focus of the SI lies in novel research results related to the broad concept of system intelligence, with particular emphasis on industrial applications. Submissions from the following research areas are especially welcome:
- Energy-efficient industrial systems and control, including distributed control systems (DCS) and Internet of Things (IoT) applications;
- Applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in management of small- and large-scale industrial power networks;
- Design and implementation of digital twins (DT) and extended reality (XR) for industrial applications including training, simulation, and SCADA systems;
- Industrial applications of fractional-order calculus (FOC)-based modeling and control of dynamic systems;
- Industrial applications of genetic programming (GP) and symbolic regression (SR);
- Computer vision (CV) applications for maintenance, repair, and safety.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Energies is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
