Design, Prototyping and Measurement of Intelligent Microwave Filtering Components in Wireless Communication Systems

Wireless communication systems are rapidly evolving to meet the demands of next-generation technologies, such as 5G/6G, IoT, and satellite communications. Microwave filtering components, including filters, filtering antennas, and filtering power dividers, play a critical role in ensuring signal integrity, reducing interference, and enhancing system performance. However, the increasing complexity of wireless systems necessitates innovative approaches to the design, prototyping, and measurement of these components.

This Special Issue aims to explore cutting-edge advancements in intelligent microwave filtering components for wireless communication systems. We invite researchers and engineers to contribute original research articles, reviews, and case studies that address novel design methodologies, prototyping techniques, and measurement approaches. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Advanced Design Techniques:
   • Novel topologies for microwave filters, filtering antennas, and filtering power dividers.
   • AI-assisted and machine learning-driven design optimization.
   • Reconfigurable and tunable filtering components for adaptive systems.
2. Prototyping and Manufacturing Innovations:
   • Additive manufacturing (3D printing) for microwave filtering components.
   • Low-cost and high-performance prototyping methods.
   • Integration of filtering components with other RF subsystems.
3. Intelligent Measurement and Characterization:
   • Advanced measurement techniques for high-frequency filtering components.
   • AI-assisted measurement and performance prediction.
   • Calibration and de-embedding methods for accurate characterization.
4. Emerging Applications:
   • Filtering components for 5G/6G, IoT, and satellite communication systems.
   • Miniaturized and wearable filtering solutions for modern wireless devices.
   • Energy-efficient and sustainable filtering technologies.

This Special Issue seeks to provide a platform for sharing new knowledge, methodologies, and applications that push the boundaries of microwave filtering components in wireless communication systems. We encourage submissions that highlight interdisciplinary approaches, combining insights from electromagnetics, material science, artificial intelligence, and signal processing.
