High‐Performance Organic Field‐Effect Transistors

Dear Colleagues,

Organic Field-Effect Transistors (OFETs) have garnered significant interest due to their potential for enabling flexible, lightweight, and low-cost electronic applications. As the demand for organic electronics continues to grow, advancements in OFET design, fabrication, and performance are essential for their integration into next-generation technologies, including flexible displays, wearable electronics, and neuromorphic computing. Among their many applications, OFET-based sensors have emerged as a powerful platform for detecting environmental stimuli such as gases, biomolecules, temperature changes, and pressure variations with high sensitivity and low power consumption. Their tunable electrical properties, combined with their ability to function on flexible and stretchable substrates, pave the way for breakthroughs in medical diagnostics, smart textiles, and the Internet of Things (IoT).

In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but not limited to) the following:

• Stability and reliability improvements in OFETs;
• Charge transport mechanisms, interface engineering, dielectric materials, and contact optimization;
• Novel organic semiconductors and hybrid OFET structures;
• High-frequency OFETs for wireless communication;
• Flexible and printable OFET fabrication techniques;
• Applications in wearable and flexible electronics;
• Characterization and simulation methodologies for OFETs;
• OFET-based sensors for various applications, including gas, liquid, radiation, temperature, biosensing, etc.;
• Neuromorphic systems based on OFETs;
• Flexible OFET-based displays;
• Integration of OFETs into complex circuits for next-generation devices.
