Data Analysis and Management in the Internet of Things: Recent Advances and Prospects

The aim of this Special Issue is to bring together cutting-edge research and innovative solutions related to handling data within the vast realm of the Internet of Things (IoT). With the exponential growth in IoT devices generating an unprecedented amount of data, there is a pressing need to develop advanced techniques for effective data analysis and management. This Special Issue endeavors to provide a platform for researchers and practitioners to share their insights and discoveries, ultimately driving the progress of IoT applications.

The scope of this collection encompasses a wide range of aspects related to data in IoT systems, and it covers both theoretical advancements and practical implementations. Papers exploring the challenges and opportunities of collecting, storing, processing, and interpreting IoT data are welcome. Additionally, investigations into how data analysis and management can enhance the performance, reliability, and security of IoT systems are highly relevant to this subject.

This Special Issue will focus on (but is not limited to) the following topics:

• Advanced data analytics algorithms tailored to IoT data, such as machine learning and deep learning techniques for pattern recognition and prediction.
• Big data management strategies for IoT, including scalable storage architectures and efficient query processing mechanisms.
• Data security and privacy in IoT, addressing how to protect sensitive data during collection, transmission, and analysis.
• The integration of heterogeneous IoT data sources and semantic interoperability to enable seamless data sharing and utilization.
• Real-time data processing frameworks for IoT applications that demand immediate decision-making based on incoming data streams.

Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process.
