Educational Equity in Low-Income Contexts
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Achieving educational equity remains a critical challenge in low-income contexts globally, where systemic disadvantage continues to impact access, participation, and outcomes for learners across all stages of education. This Special Issue seeks to bring together cutting-edge research, policy analysis, and practice-based insights that interrogate the intersections of poverty, inequality, and education. We welcome empirical studies, theoretical contributions, and case-based evidence that explore the structural, institutional, cultural, and pedagogical barriers to equity, as well as promising interventions that foster inclusive and just educational systems. Contributions from diverse contexts—rural and urban, local and international—are encouraged, particularly those that amplify the voices and experiences of marginalised learners, families, and communities. By spotlighting innovative strategies and transformative practices, this Special Issue aims to advance the global dialogue on how education systems can better respond to the complexities of disadvantage and create meaningful opportunities for all.
