Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
It is my great pleasure to invite you to contribute to a Special Issue of the journal Diagnostics (MDPI), for which I have the honor of serving as Guest Editor. The Special Issue is titled “Advances in Endoscopic Ultrasound: Diagnostic and Therapeutic Innovations”.
Aim and Scope:
Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) has rapidly evolved from a purely diagnostic tool to a sophisticated platform for real-time imaging, tissue acquisition, and minimally invasive therapeutic interventions. This Special Issue aims to showcase the latest advances in EUS, with a particular focus on how emerging techniques are reshaping clinical practice and broadening the scope of gastroenterology, oncology, and hepatology.
We welcome high-quality original research, comprehensive reviews, technical notes, and illustrative clinical cases addressing topics including, but not limited to:
- EUS-guided tissue acquisition: fine-needle biopsy (FNB), new needle technologies, and cytopathological evaluation;
- EUS elastography and contrast-enhanced EUS: innovations in characterization of lesions;
- EUS in hepatology: portal pressure measurements, liver biopsy, and assessment of portal hypertension;
- EUS-guided therapeutic procedures: drainage of pancreatic fluid collections, biliary access, gastroenterostomy, and vascular interventions;
- Artificial intelligence and imaging enhancement in EUS;
- Training, quality standards, and multidisciplinary integration of EUS into patient care.
This Special Issue offers a platform for clinicians, researchers, and innovators to share recent findings and future perspectives that can improve diagnostic accuracy, therapeutic precision, and patient outcomes.
Given your expertise in the field, your contribution would be invaluable to this collection.
Prof. Dr. Andrada Seicean
Guest Editor
Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Diagnostics is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
