The following is a short Q&A with Prof. Dr. Chun Hung Chu, who shared his vision for the journal with us, as well as his views on the research area:

1. What appealed to you about the journal that made you want to take the role as its Section Editor-in-Chief?

Preventive dentistry is dental care that helps maintain good oral health. As a researcher and clinician with a focus on the prevention of oral diseases, I have taken up the role of Section Editor-in-Chief on “Preventive Dentistry” of the Dentistry Journal to promote preventive dental care.

2. What is your vision for the journal?

The Dentistry Journal is the only MDPI journal in the field of dentistry. It is one of the most important dental journals to disseminate updated dental research.

3. What does the future of this field of research look like?

Preventing future dental diseases and preventing complications from existing dental conditions are crucial to the future sustainability of oral health, which is an important and integral part of general health.

4. What do you think of the development of Open Access in the publishing field?

Publications in Open Access are free and readily available to all researchers and clinicians. They have increased visibility which enhances international recognition and scientific impact.

We warmly welcome Prof. Dr. Chun Hung Chu in his new role as Section Editor-in-Chief, and we look forward to him leading the Dentistry Journal and helping the journal to achieve many more milestones.
