Quality of Care for Patients with Head and Neck Cancer

This special issue belongs to the section “Cancer Survivorship and Quality of Life“.

Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Head and neck cancers are a heterogeneous group of cancers originating in structures of the head and neck. Appropriately, the treatment of head and neck cancers is also heterogeneous, as it is tailored to each type of cancer to optimize prognosis while minimizing the burden. Head and neck cancer treatment is often multimodal, provided by a multi-professional and multi-disciplinary group of healthcare providers. The complexity of head and neck cancer treatment can compromise the quality of care for individuals with head and neck cancer. Also, the burden it poses to patients and healthcare systems can be substantial.

We welcome research papers and reviews exploring a variety of topics on the quality of care for individuals with head and neck cancer, aligning with the six domains of quality: safety, timeliness, effectiveness, efficiency, equity, and patient-centered care.
