Advances in Mathematical Statistics and Data Analysis
This special issue belongs to the section "Mathematical Analysis".
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Mathematical statistics and data analysis serve as the foundational bridge between theoretical rigor and practical inference in modern data science. They encompass the mathematical theory of probability, statistical inference, sampling, and decision theory, providing the quantitative backbone for extracting meaningful information from complex datasets.
This Special Issue, titled “Advances in Mathematical Statistics and Data Analysis”, is designed to fill a critical gap in the existing literature by focusing on novel methodological developments and transdisciplinary applications that advance the frontiers of the field—distinguishing itself from existing publications by its emphasis on the intersection of theoretical innovation and practical impact. While numerous journals and Special Issues have addressed isolated aspects of mathematical statistics or data analysis, this proposal stands out by explicitly connecting theoretical advancements to real-world challenges, highlighting how new statistical methods can solve unmet needs in diverse domains.
To ensure the depth and breadth of the Special Issue, we invite original research papers and review articles covering (but not limited to) the following topics:
Parametric and nonparametric inference, multivariate analysis, statistics on algebraic structures or manifolds, directional and spatial statistics, statistics of extreme values, order statistics and empirical distribution functions.
Plezse check that the intended meaning has been retained.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Axioms is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
