Cover Story: Medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ) is a severe side effect in patients treated with antiresorptive or antiangiogenic drugs. This study investigates the effectiveness of photobiomodulation (PBM) therapy in treating MRONJ, with a focus on complete recovery in Stage I and its supportive role in more advanced stages. Using a low-level 635 nm diode laser, PBM was shown to significantly reduce inflammation and pain and promote tissue repair. Patients with early-stage disease achieved full healing, while those with advanced MRONJ experienced meaningful symptom relief and an improved quality of life. PBM may reduce the need for extensive surgery and serve as a valuable adjunctive therapy. View this paper
