Topic Information

Dear Colleagues,

Applied computing addresses real-world problems in the applications of computer technologies. It considers both theoretical and applied computer science, from hardware to software, and is a multidisciplinary field integrating computer/information technology with a second discipline. Machine artificial intelligence is one of the most important and promising technologies for applied computing and makes computers learn from data using different techniques in various applications. Leveraging machine intelligence techniques and methods to explore and solve applied computing problems is an important and effective trend, often leading to technological and research breakthroughs.

This Topic Issue (TI) focuses on the latest ideas, solutions, or developments of applied computing using machine intelligence. Topics of interest include all kinds of computing applications using artificial/machine intelligence techniques, as well as theoretical research. The related areas for computation and technology are information management, systems, networking, programming, software engineering, mobile technology, graphic applications and visualization, data integration, security, artificial intelligence, and GeoAI. As this juncture sits at the intersection of multiple disciplines, it has a wide range of applications, including finance, retail, education, healthcare, agriculture, navigation, lifestyle, manufacturing, etc.

Preprints.org is a multidisciplinary platform offering a preprint service designed to facilitate the early sharing of your research. It supports and empowers your research journey from the very beginning.

MDPI Topics is collaborating with Preprints.org and has established a direct connection between MDPI journals and the platform. Authors are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity by posting their preprints at Preprints.org prior to publication:

  1. Share your research immediately: disseminate your ideas prior to publication and establish priority for your work.
  2. Safeguard your intellectual contribution: Protect your ideas with a time-stamped preprint that serves as proof of your research timeline.
  3. Boost visibility and impact: Increase the reach and influence of your research by making it accessible to a global audience.
  4. Gain early feedback: Receive valuable input and insights from peers before submitting to a journal.
  5. Ensure broad indexing: Web of Science (Preprint Citation Index), Google Scholar, Crossref, SHARE, PrePubMed, Scilit and Europe PMC.
