Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Art
Topic Information
Dear Colleagues,
Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly transforming the landscape of art and creative practice. From generative models and algorithmic systems producing visual, sonic and performative works, to AI-enabled tools reshaping artistic workflows and cultural distribution, the intersection of AI and art poses profound opportunities and challenges. This joint Topic brings together research from the fields of artificial intelligence, arts and humanities in order to map current developments, critically reflect on emerging trajectories, and anticipate the future of art in the age of machine intelligence.
Aim and Scope:
This Topic aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue across computer science, art practice, cultural studies, media theory and the humanities. By weaving together technical, creative and critical perspectives, we seek to advance understanding of how AI is not just an instrument but an agent of change within the arts and human culture. We invite original research articles, review papers, theoretical contributions, design-case studies and practice-based work.
