Urban Science 2020 Best Paper Award (300 CHF)
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the “Urban Science 2020 Best Paper Award” for research and review articles published in Urban Science from 1 January 2020 to 31 December 2020. One article will receive an award. The paper will be selected after thorough evaluation by the journal Award Committee led by the EiC, and the winner will be announced in April 2022.
Eligibility for the award:
– Papers published in Urban Science from 1 January 2020 to 31 December 2020;
– The award is open to researchers at all career levels;
– Both regular and Special Issue submissions will be considered.
Selection Criteria:
The paper will be selected by the journal Award Committee according to the following criteria (data source: Web of Science (Clarivate Analytics)):
– Scientific merit and broad impact;
– Originality of the research objectives and/or the ideas presented;
– Creativity of the study design or uniqueness of the approaches and concepts;
– Clarity of presentation;
– Citation and download rates in 2021.
Prize:
The award will consist of 300 Swiss Francs and a certificate. In addition, the winner will be given the opportunity to publish a paper free of charge in Urban Science in 2022, after the normal peer-review procedure.
The winner will be announced on the journal website in April 2022.

Urban Science 2019 Travel Award Winner
Dear Colleagues,
After a thorough assessment of all applications by the Evaluation Committee, we are pleased to announce that Dr. Francesco Aletta is the winner of the Urban Science Travel Award 2019, and will receive 500 Swiss Francs towards his travel expenses to attend the 23rd International Congress on Acoustics in Aachen, Germany.
Dr. Francesco Aletta received his Ph.D. at Second University of Naples in 2014, and is now a Research Associate at University College London. His research focuses on noise annoyance, soundscape, and environmental acoustics.
We would like to congratulate him on his excellent work, and would further like to thank all applicants for their interesting and high-quality contributions. We also wish to thank the Scientific Committee members for their evaluation of the candidates.

It is a peer-reviewed, open access journal that publishes high-quality original articles, critical reviews, research notes, and short communications.
Urban Science 2019 Travel Award
We are inviting applications for a Travel Award for postdoc fellow in the area of urban and regional studies to attend a conference of their choice in 2019. The nominations and applications will be assessed by an Evaluation Committee consisting of senior scholars in this field.

–Postdoc fellow whose research involves urban and regional studies
–Attend an international conference in 2019 to present research (either via an oral presentation or poster) in the area of urban and regional studies

–Curriculum Vitae
–Letter of support from their mentors
The award will consist of 500 Swiss Francs
