The International Lab for Innovative Cultural and Social Research (ILIS) is an international research network and laboratory dedicated to advancing theoretical, epistemological, and methodological innovation in the social sciences. Rooted in a strong interdisciplinary tradition, ILIS brings together scholars from sociology, philosophy, education, digital humanities, and data science to explore the profound transformations shaping contemporary societies.

Its mission is to reflect on the innovative processes that pervade the research as well as rethink how knowledge is produced in a rapidly changing world—marked by digitalization, algorithmic mediation, mobility, identity shifts, and emerging forms of inequality—by integrating classical social inquiry with cutting-edge methodological approaches.

ILIS functions both as a collaborative research hub and as a methodological service for the broader academic community, supporting research design, data collection, tool development, sampling strategies, and advanced data analysis. Through international conferences, publications, and cross-disciplinary projects, ILIS fosters a vibrant environment for innovative thinking and empirical rigor, shaping the future of social research on a global scale.
