Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to invite contributions to our Special Issue, entitled "Progress in Performance Evaluation and Optimization of Photovoltaic Systems", of Processes. The performance evaluation and optimization of photovoltaic (PV) systems are central to improving their efficiency, reliability, and overall contribution to global energy needs. With ongoing advancements in PV technologies, materials, and system integration, it is crucial to evaluate how these innovations impact the performance of solar energy systems across varying environmental conditions, operational scenarios, and technological configurations.

This Special Issue aims to collate cutting-edge research that addresses the latest developments in performance assessment, optimization techniques, and system integration strategies for PV systems. We invite the submission of original research articles, reviews, and communications that focus on, but are not limited to, the following topics:

  • Performance modeling and simulations of PV systems;
  • Advances in efficiency improvement and optimization techniques for PV systems;
  • Impact of environmental factors (e.g., temperature, dust, and shading) on PV performance;
  • Aging and degradation analysis of PV panels and system components;
  • Integration of energy storage systems with PV technologies;
  • Novel materials and innovations for enhancing PV system performance;
  • Economic and environmental aspects of PV performance optimization;
  • Real-time monitoring and predictive analytics for PV systems.

The goal of this Special Issue is to highlight the importance of understanding and optimizing the performance of PV systems, which are a key pillar in the transition towards sustainable energy sources. By showcasing recent advancements and novel optimization strategies, this Special Issue aims to provide a comprehensive view of the current state of the art in PV performance evaluation and optimization. Through these contributions, we seek to foster new insights that will guide continued improvement in and widespread adoption of photovoltaic technologies, ultimately contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable energy future.

We invite authors to submit their work to this Special Issue, which we hope will act as a unique platform for sharing innovative ideas and practices in the photovoltaic sector. All submitted papers will undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure that all contributions are of a high quality. We look forward to receiving your submissions and to fostering a robust discussion on the future of PV system optimization.

Sincerely,

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Processes is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
