Technology-Enhanced Learning: The Pharmacy Perspective

Dear Colleagues,

Over the last decade the use of technology-enhanced learning has become ubiquitous in most university courses and in work-based learning. There are now online resources that support students on campus, to supplement and complement lectures, coursework and laboratory sessions, there are also online courses ranging from a few minutes to fully accredited MSc programmes that are available for pharmacists in the workplace. Materials are developed by higher or further education institutions, professional bodies and workplace training departments. The impact of elearning in pharmacy is huge and this Special Issue hopes to capture this.

Do you have a story to tell about the changes caused by using computers, mobile applications, gaming, role playing or other online resources that you have used to train students or staff at higher education institutions and/or pharmacists in the workplace? This could include materials developed for virtual learning environments or small standalone elearning materials.

This Special Issue of Pharmacy will investigate changes, barriers and facilitators to the use of technology-enhanced learning, explore the attitudes and experiences of learners, and discuss strategies and management styles appropriate for the successful development of online learning and teaching programmes.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Pharmacy is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
