Medicines 2023 Outstanding Reviewer Award
Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Dr. Hiroshi Sakagami, we wish to acknowledge our reviewers who so generously offer their time to review the papers submitted to Medicines by presenting an award to the reviewers who have demonstrated their dedication, professionalism, and timeliness in reviewing manuscripts for Medicines.
What are the pre-requisites to be eligible for this award?
All of the reviewers for Medicines in 2023 will be automatically included.
Selection Criteria:
– Number of review reports;
– The quality and timeliness of review reports.
What will the winner receive?
There will be one winner this year, and who will receive the following:
– CHF 500;
– An opportunity to publish a paper free of charge Medicines in 2024 after peer review;
– An electronic certificate.
When will the winner be announced?
The winner will be announced in January 2024 on the journal website.
How can I make myself eligible?

Medicines 2021 Travel Award
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the winner of the Medicines 2021 Travel Award.
The award has been granted to Dr. Claire Albert, a post-doctoral fellow in the Saltzman Research Group and Tietjen Research Group, Yale University USA. She will be awarded a prize of 800 CHF and a certificate.
With so many high-quality applicants, the evaluation process and final decision were challenging. We would like to thank all the applicants for submitting their diverse and fascinating range of research topics. On behalf of the assessment committee, we congratulate the winner on her accomplishments.

Medicines 2020 Young Investigator Award
Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to announce that the winners of the Medicines 2020 Young Investigator Award are Dr. Cristina Cadenas-Sanchez and Dr. Patricia Sampedro-Piquero.
Dr. Cristina Cadenas-Sanchez completed her Ph.D. in Biomedicine under the research direction of Physical Activity and Health at the University of Granada. Currently, Dr. Cadenas-Sanchez is working as a Juan de la Cierva postdoctoral researcher at the Public University of Navarra (ELIKOS research group). She has published 101 scientific articles in total (94 indexed in JCR). Her most cited paper in 2017 has accumulated a total of ~500 citations. All her recorded works and published papers have been focused on using physical activity, physical fitness or sleep as a tool or “polypill” for prevention. She strongly believes in the role of physical activity in health in all populations.
Dr. Patricia Sampedro-Piquero is an assistant professor at the Psychology Faculty, Neuroscience Laboratory, of the University of Oviedo. Her research interest is focused on the potential benefits of behavioral interventions, such as aerobic exercise or environmental enrichment, in preclinical models of addiction. She is especially interested in the effects of exercise in reducing the preference and probability of relapse in animal models of alcohol binge-drinking.
As the awardees, Dr. Cristina Cadenas-Sanchez and Dr. Patricia Sampedro-Piquero will each receive an honorarium of 1000 CHF, an offer to publish a paper free of charge before 31 December 2021 in Medicines after peer review, and an engraved plaque.
We would like to thank all the nominators from various fields of study for their participation and all the award committee members for their evaluation of the abundant excellent nominations.

Medicines 2019 Travel Award

For the Medicines Travel Award 2019, we received a total of 38 applications from all over the world, of a very high quality. Together with a scientific evaluation committee of experts from Asia, Australia, and America, we selected the following exceptional applicant as the winner of the Medicines Travel Award 2019:
Dr. François Chassagne, PharmD, a postdoctoral research fellow at the Center for the Study of Human Health, Emory University, Atlanta, GA, USA.
The award consists of 800 Swiss Francs toward Dr. Chassagne attending an academic conference of his choice in 2019.

Medicines 2017 Travel Award
Dear Colleagues, Dear Researchers,
For the Medicines Travel Award 2017, we received in total 72 applications from all over the world, of a very high quality. The decision was not easy to make and has been deliberated over by four experts from four continents (Asia, Australia, Europe and America) together with myself as Editor-in- Chief of Medicines.
The Travel Award was granted to Dr. Peggy M.P.C. Bosch, a postdoctoral research associate at the Radboud University, Nijmegen, The Netherlands, who is working on acupuncture in the treatment of schizophrenia, sleep and depression.
The award consists of 800 Swiss Francs to attend any academic conference of her choice in 2017.
On behalf of the jury and the Medicines team, I would like to congratulate Dr. Bosch for her achievements!
