Dear Colleagues,
Two-dimensional (2D) magnetic materials have only emerged in recent years. This rapidly developing group of materials has attracted a high level of interest due to their novel 2D magnetic properties and possible applications as ultrathin magnetic materials in electronics and photonics.
This Special Issue will cover this fast-evolving field, with a focus on the synthesis, characterization, and application of 2D magnetic materials. Works from Physics, Chemistry, and Materials Science and Engineering are welcome, including interdisciplinary projects.

For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Materials is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
