Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Thousands of infants are born every year who have been affected by fetal growth restriction. Growth restriction, when accompanied by prematurity, places the cohorts at a particular risk of adverse outcomes. Common underlying features include pre-eclampsia and utero-placental insufficiency. There is a growing body of evidence that notes echocardiographic and biochemical evidence of sub-clinical cardiac dysfunction. There are increasing concerns about the impact of growth restriction on respiratory and neurodevelopmental outcomes. Cardiovascular implications continue well into adulthood with higher rates of hypertension, stroke, and myocardial infarction. And yet, perinatal history is never asked when adults present with cardiac problems.
Pregnancy seems to have become the new frontline for developments where therapeutic options, whether pharmacological or non-pharmacological, are being explored. Some data on the Mediterraneandiet and mindfulness, as well as the use of sidenafel and cardiac modulators, appears to be promising.
In this Special Issue, we welcome authors to submit papers on clinical advances in all relevant domains related to fetal growth restriction. This can pertain to the antenatal period, the placenta, postnatal (cardiac, pulmonary, neurodevelopmental) as well as pediatric health, and adolescent and adult clinical research.
We invite the submission of original research, commentaries, and review articles. Research in progress with promising preliminary results will also be considered.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers).
