Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

In recent decades, advances in cancer treatment have significantly improved survival across several types of malignancies. However, oncology patients face another threat to their health and wellbeing: cardiotoxicity from anticancer treatment. This all-encompassing term refers to a wide range of cardiovascular conditions, which are being actively investigated within the rapidly developing field of cardio-oncology.

Thanks to global research efforts, various patterns of cardiotoxicity have been discovered, leading to the publication of international guidelines that directly address these issues. Nonetheless, significant gaps in knowledge remain.

For this Special Issue, we invite authors to submit original research and review papers on state-of-the-art clinical practice regarding acute cardiovascular complications associated with anticancer therapy. We particularly encourage studies exploring disparities in care and how they may influence patient outcomes, as well as studies that showcase how novel technologies and innovative research methods can offer actionable solutions for this complex and vulnerable population.
