This special issue belongs to the section “Inventions and Innovation in Energy and Thermal/Fluidic Science“.
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
We are thrilled to announce the 1st International Online Conference on Inventions—Energy Security and Sustainable Development (IOCIV 2026).
Growing geopolitical tensions, combined with high dependence on imported fuels, raw materials, and technologies, pose an increasing threat to energy security. From this perspective, the conference offers a great platform to explore the latest advancements and future directions in the dynamic field of inventions related to Energy Security and Sustainable Development. Scientists worldwide can share their research, exchange ideas, and collaborate to shape a better future. As a virtual event, it is convenient and provides an engaging international experience.
IOCIV 2026 promises to be a dynamic and stimulating event, bringing together leading actors in academia and industry. Participants will learn about leading research in the field and explore cutting-edge applications and methods. Our conference will foster innovative and timely collaborations in the following exciting fields:
- Energy transition, decarbonization, and environmental policy;
- Advanced sustainable energy conversion systems;
- Energy system analysis and modelling;
- Advances and challenges in extracting offshore energy.
The Inventions journal invites all conference participants to submit outstanding contributions to the Conference Special Issue.
We look forward to your participation!

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Inventions is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1800 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
