Geosciences | Highly Cited Papers Published in 2024–2025 in the “Geomechanics” Section
We are pleased to introduce a list of highly cited papers published in the “Geomechanics” Section of Geosciences (ISSN 2076-3263). The aim of this Section is to publish original and top-quality research papers, notes, comments, and reviews in the fields of solid earth, atmosphere, hydrosphere, and space sciences.
Geomechanics involves the study of the mechanics of soil and rock; thus, the two main disciplines of geomechanics are soil mechanics and rock mechanics. Soil mechanics deals with the behavior of soil from small to large scales, whereas rock mechanics deals with issues related to rock mass behavior and characterization. Many aspects of geomechanics overlap, and these include, but are not limited to, geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering, mining and blasting engineering, geological engineering, underground structures, road and pavement engineering, engineering geophysics, offshore and marine geotechnics, geothermal energy, and railway track geotechnology.
Authors are invited to submit articles to this section of Geosciences. As our goal is to advance knowledge of geomechanics, articles covering interdisciplinary topics of geomechanics are especially welcome.
