Feature Papers: Molecular Genetics and Genomics 2026
This special issue belongs to the section "Molecular Genetics and Genomics".
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue, entitled “Feature Papers: Molecular Genetics and Genomics 2026”, aims to gather high-quality research articles, review papers, and short communications focusing on molecular genetics and genomics.
It is intended to present the research landscape of the field through exemplary works, and as such, we extend a special invitation to Editorial Board Members of the “Molecular Genetics and Genomics” Section: we invite you to contribute feature papers that reflect the work and achievements in your research areas, or to connect us with relevant senior experts and colleagues who may wish to submit their work.
We aim to represent our Section as an attractive open access publishing platform for molecular genetics research. Topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Single-Cell and Spatial Omics;
- Genome-Targeted RNA Therapeutics and Diagnostics;
- Next-Generation CRISPR Genome and Epigenome Editing;
- Chromatin Remodeling and Dynamics;
- Epigenetics, DNA Methylation, Histone Modification, Histone Code;
- DNA Replication, Repair, Recombination, Mobile DNA, Mitochondrial DNA;
- RNA Biology and Molecular Regulation;
- Molecular Mechanisms of Cell Signaling, Signal Transduction, Cell Cycle, Cell Death, and Stem Cell Regulation;
- Post-Transcriptional Regulation of Gene Expression;
- Developmental Genetics;
- Molecular Basis of Diseases;
- AI-Powered Genomics and Genetic.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Genes is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
