Regulation of DNA Integrity

Dear Colleagues,

This Special Issue, entitled “Regulation of DNA Integrity”, focuses on genomic integrity—a fundamental pillar of life that presents an ongoing challenge for all living organisms. The mechanisms governing DNA maintenance must reconcile multiple critical demands: preserving the structural flexibility of DNA strands, adapting to the physiological environment of the nucleus, and coordinating the highly dynamic nature of thousands of gene‑regulated chemical reactions that take place every second. This Special Issue aims to highlight cutting‑edge research in this field, ranging from gene‑level mechanistic studies to genome‑wide perspectives.

We welcome submissions of original research articles, reviews, and perspective articles focused on the regulation of DNA integrity, covering basic molecular mechanisms as well as translational and clinical applications. Topics may include, but are not limited to, regulatory networks governing DNA repair, genomic stability, and the DNA damage response, as well as the implications of disrupted DNA integrity regulation in human health and disease . We particularly encourage submissions featuring novel findings, innovative methodologies, or comprehensive syntheses that advance our understanding of the molecular and cellular processes underlying DNA integrity maintenance.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Genes is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
