Efficient Processing of Biomass Energy and Waste Fuels

This special issue belongs to the section “A4: Bio-Energy“.

Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

It is my great pleasure to invite you to contribute to this Special Issue of Energies on ‘Efficient Processing of Biomass Energy and Waste Fuels’.
This issue will cover several topics and current trends and technologies associated with energy conversion, with particular emphasis put on the processing of biomass and other renewable fuels. The technologies of fuel thermal treatment in order to convert it into valuable products will be presented and new ways to produce liquid, solid, and gaseous substances will be analyzed. Various aspects of the application of biochar will be investigated and presented, and environmental effects of biochar application will be dealt with. The modern use of biochar for power generation, sustainable agricultural production, pollutant reduction, etc. will be focused on. Furthermore, the application of the biochar for material engineering, chemistry, environmental engineering, and several other industries will be addressed.
The current Special Issue of the journal also invites and welcomes papers on a broad spectrum of ideas, processes, and technologies addressing sustainable development strategies, waste and waste fuel processing, emission reduction or the utilization or reuse of any process byproducts. Any paper that may help to increase people‘s environmental awareness in order to switch from the current linear economy development to a more circular one would fit perfectly to this Special Issue of Energies.
I am confident that your research group will find the above scope interesting and you will contribute to this enterprise in our common interest.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Energies is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
