Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue on point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) aims to highlight the pivotal advancements and applications of POCUS in various medical settings. As a transformative technology, POCUS has revolutionised the way healthcare professionals diagnose and manage patients at the bedside, offering real-time, non-invasive insights. This Special Issue will cover a broad spectrum of topics including novel ultrasound diagnostic techniques; the integration of POCUS in emergencies, cardiology, nephrology, and critical care; and its role in improving patient outcomes.
Key articles will delve into the latest innovations in ultrasound technology, such as portable devices that enhance accessibility in remote or resource-limited settings. This Special Issue will also explore educational strategies for training healthcare providers, ensuring they are proficient in utilising POCUS to its fullest potential. Case studies will provide practical examples of POCUS applications in various medical scenarios, from acute trauma assessments to chronic disease management.
Moreover, the journal Diagnostics will address the challenges and limitations of POCUS, such as operator dependency and the need for standardised protocols. By presenting comprehensive research and expert opinions, this Special Issue aims to foster a deeper understanding of POCUS, promote best practises, and inspire further innovations in this rapidly evolving field.
