Recent Developments in Organometallic Syntheses for Biomedical Applications

This special issue belongs to the section “Molecular Medicine“.

Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

In recent decades, organometallic chemistry has emerged as a powerful tool for developing innovative materials and compounds with diverse applications in various sectors, including biomedical sciences. “Recent Developments in Organometallic Syntheses for Biomedical Applications” represents a cutting-edge interdisciplinary area that leverages the unique properties of organometallic complexes for the design and fabrication of novel therapeutic agents, diagnostic tools, and drug delivery systems. By integrating the principles of synthetic chemistry, molecular biology, and materials science, researchers can explore the potential of organometallic compounds to address complex challenges in disease treatment, imaging, and targeted therapy. This Special Issue of Biomolecules will explore fundamental concepts and recent applications that describe the transformative potential of organometallic chemistry for revolutionizing healthcare.

As the field of organometallic chemistry continues to evolve, its applications in biomedical research are receiving increased attention. Researchers’ expertise and research in this area would contribute significantly to the discourse surrounding advanced organometallic syntheses and their potential biomedical applications.

Topics of interest for this Special Issue of Biomolecules include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • The design and synthesis of organometallic complexes for drug delivery;
  • The catalytic applications of organometallic compounds in bioconjugation reactions;
  • Metal-based imaging agents for diagnostic purposes;
  • Organometallic compounds in the development of therapeutic agents;
  • Bioorganometallic chemistry and its impact on understanding biological processes.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Biomolecules is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2700 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
