Pulmonary Rehabilitation: Interventions, Protocols, and Outcomes
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Pulmonary rehabilitation has emerged as a cornerstone intervention in the management of chronic respiratory diseases, substantially contributing to improvements in exercise capacity, symptom control, and health-related quality of life. In recent years, advances in clinical research, digital health technologies, and multidisciplinary care models have expanded the scope of pulmonary rehabilitation beyond traditional exercise-based programs. Innovative rehabilitation protocols, remote and tele-rehabilitation approaches, and individualized therapeutic strategies are increasingly being implemented to address the complex needs of patients with respiratory disorders.
We are pleased to invite you to contribute to this Special Issue, which aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the current developments and emerging evidence in pulmonary rehabilitation. We seek to bring together high-quality research exploring the effectiveness, implementation, and outcomes of rehabilitation interventions across diverse respiratory conditions, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, interstitial lung diseases, post-infectious respiratory sequelae, and other chronic pulmonary disorders. By highlighting methodological advances, clinical protocols, and patient-centered outcomes, this Special Issue intends to foster knowledge translation and support the optimization of rehabilitation strategies in clinical practice.
Original research articles, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses are welcome. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, exercise training strategies, tele-rehabilitation and digital monitoring, multidisciplinary interventions, protocol optimization, functional and patient-reported outcomes, and rehabilitation for emerging respiratory conditions.
We look forward to receiving your valuable contributions.
